Fuel economy is a sticking point for many drivers around Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. You probably expect a lot from your next car, with efficiency being at or near the top of the priority list. So, how do rugged, adventurous SUVs like the Wrangler do in terms of fuel economy? That's exactly what we're diving into with this 2021 Jeep Wrangler MPG review.

For 2021, the Wrangler offers some truly unique performance options for drivers near Mount Pocono, Scranton, and Tobyhanna, PA. You can test out your favorite version of the Wrangler at Ray Price Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (CDJR).

2021 Wrangler Fuel Economy: Gas-Powered Engines

A quartet of tried-and-true gas-powered engine options are available for the 2021 Wrangler. These strong motors do a splendid job of balancing power and capability with fuel efficiency.

To start, there's a spunky little 2.0L Turbo engine making 270 horsepower, 295 lb-ft of torque, and offering an EPA-estimated 21 city/ 24 highway MPG.

Jeep offers a diesel motor, too. The 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 is strong, making 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. It's also efficient, measuring an EPA-estimated 22 city/ 29 highway MPG.

Then there's a V6 offering that comes with a mild-hybrid system. Making 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, the V6 with eTorque also works to return an EPA-estimated 19 city/24 highway MPG.

Finally, we come to the strongest engine of the group, a hulking V8 generating 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. While V8s aren't typically known for fuel economy, the EPA-estimated 13 city/17 highway MPG for this engine is respectable.

2021 Wrangler Fuel Economy: Plug-in Hybrid

If you really want to squeeze the most efficiency possible from your Jeep Wrangler, the 2021 version of the SUV comes with a plug-in hybrid variant. For the first time ever, you can now travel around in your Wrangler relying solely on electric power.

This plug-in hybrid isn't a slouch on the open roads, either. With 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, your SUV will reach 60 MPH from a standstill in six seconds.

The EPA-estimated rating for the Jeep Wrangler 4xe checks in at 49 MPGe. The total driving range of this SUV comes in at 370 miles. There's some measure of performance customization, too. With adaptive Power Routing, you can optimize performance to your liking.

The all-electric mode in this SUV allows you to travel 21 miles without using a drop of fuel. The battery can be charged quickly as well. If you have access to a Level II charging port, you can have your Wrangler back to full battery in just 2 hours!
