Typical Ram Performance

Performance has long been a calling card of any Ram truck. The brand not only delivers power, but also the versatility to craft your own truck. For 2021, the Ram 1500 features five available engines, all of which offer their own advantages.

Starting with the V6 options, there's a 3.6L V6 and a 3.0L V6. The 3.6L option registers at 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque, while the 3.0L EcoDiesel makes 260 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque.

For V8 offerings, you can select between a trio of options. Two of the offerings are essentially the same motor-with and without Ram's unique eTorque technology. The HEMI® V8 makes 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque either way but opting for eTorque technology bumps towing from 11,610 pounds to 12,750 pounds.

Lastly, there's the astonishing supercharged 6.2L HEMI® V8 that turns your truck from a capable working machine to a performance juggernaut. The V8 makes 702 horsepower, 650 lb-ft of torque, and gets your truck moving from 0-60 MPH in an obscene 4.5 seconds!

Maximum Towing & Payload

The 2021 Ram 1500 has to stand up to the impressive traditions set by previous Ram trucks. Thankfully, the 2021 model delivers the towing and payload capabilities the brand is known for.

It's the 5.7L V8 you want if towing is your sole goal. The truck will peak at an impressive 12,750 pounds of maximum towing capacity with this V8 under the hood. For payload, you can expect as much as 2,300 pounds.

What gives the truck even more on-road ability is a host of cutting-edge technology. An air suspension system automatically lowers the vehicle at highway speeds to reduce drag, for example. In addition, there's a host of smart towing technology to give you stability and confidence when you have a trailer attached. A few of these features include:

  • Trailer Tire Pressure Monitoring System
  • Trailer light check
  • Trailer-Tow power-fold mirrors
  • Available 360° Surround View Camera
