Ram 1500 Upgrades
- Weight Down, Strength Up: The 2019 Ram 1500 essentially endured a rigorous CrossFit for trucks regimen, dropping 225 pounds while gaining big time strength thanks to a 98% steel chassis. Despite weighing less, it's now capable of lifting much more.
- No Ordinary Cabs Here: A big update to the 1500's lineup eliminates the Regular Cab option among the truck's model configurations, so all models have four doors and two seating rows. Quad Cab and Crew Cab body styles provide abundant seating space for a maximum of six passengers. Crew Cab styles in particular have an impressive 39.9 inches of rear seat legroom!
- A New Look: The Ram 1500's new grille design takes up a bit more real estate than before with a forward leaning stance that makes any road under its tires look like a starting line.
Efficient Truck Engine Options with eTorque
For many pickup drivers, efficiency is becoming more and more important. Fortunately, the new Ram 1500 recognizes this and features several highly efficient engine options thanks to a new mild hybrid system called eTorque.
- What's eTorque?: Standard on the 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6 engine and optional on the 5.7-liter HEMI® V8, eTorque uses a 48-volt battery pack motor generator. This incredible system saves fuel when the truck rolls up to a stop and harnesses and stows away energy produced while braking to use later for an added torque boost when the truck gets moving again.
- Expected EPA Estimates: While the V8 engine without eTorque will hang onto EPA estimates of 15 MPG city / 22 MPG highway, the models with the mild hybrid system are anticipated to have a significant MPG edge over the 2018 model. This will help keep drivers on course to their destinations around Tobyhanna, Scranton, Stroudsburg, and East Stroudsburg with more time on the road and less time at the pump.

Ram 1500: Tow & Haul More Than Ever Before in the 2019 1500
All of these updates are great to have, but when it comes to pickup trucks, capability matters most of all. Equipped with the strongest build and the smartest powertrain of the Ram 1500 saga yet, the 2019 model delivers the tow and haul bump you've been waiting for.
- There's Tow Time Like the Present: The 2019 1500's maximum towing stat is up 2,110 pounds from last year, providing strength to pull up to 12,750 pounds when properly equipped.
- Haul it All: When it comes to how much you can shoulder along in the truck bed, this number is on the rise too, with a 420-pound increase over last year's capability for a 2,300-pound total haul aptitude. This added potential in your pickup allows you to carry more heavy materials wherever you need to go.
